Fishery Managers Report - July 6th 2010

HUNTINGBRIDGE
 No members have reported catches on this stretch of the Weaver but in the last couple of years barbel to 6lbs have been reported.
Remember we started the stocking programme in 1999 when barbel to1lb-8ozs were introduced.
We could very well have barbel now to 8lbs? Chub to 4lbs have been reported with bigger fish spotted in the river, well worth a visit.
This stretch of the Weaver is very under fished we need members input on what they catch.

HALLS & TOP FLASH and KITCHIN MEADOWS
The Flash has got off to a good start with plenty of fish coming out best fish a recognised mirror of 26lbs 8ozs.
In the first match on Wednesday evening - 35lbs winner runner up 24lbs.
No report on the river as yet, if you want a quiet days fishing give this stretch of the Weaver a go.
Some good fish present barbel, chub, bream and roach.

RILSHAW LANE /BOATYARD  MEADOW
This area of the river produces bream when colour is present in the river with some good roach and the usual mixed course fish.
with the added bonus a chance of a carp or barbel. It as produced a barbel of near 5lbs in recent years.

 WAY`S GREEN
This area is known to produce some fair catches of bream to 5lbs and carp to twenty pounds plus.

MARINA/RED LION
Good mixed fishery stretch of the Weaver with some good roach and bream catches with the odd carp.

AEROSOL
Like the Red Lion stretch but with plenty of bank side shelter on the days when the weather is unkind.

FERRY STEPS.
Bit of a walk but, can produce on the day, bream, roach and carp present in numbers, bonus tench to be had, fish out in the river for
bream and roach. Try down the side for the carp, some good fish 20lbs plus reported last season

NATIONAL/ POOL
This is an ideal stretch of the Weaver to fish for the less agile members with the car park very close to the river.
Match results evening 12lbs winner, runner-up 8lbs with several backing weights of 6lbs plus Sundays match winner 9lbs runner-up 8lbs
several backing weights of 6lbs plus. Can produce on the day, bream, roach and carp present in numbers bonus tench to be had,
fish out in the river for bream and roach, try down the margins or the far bank for the carp some good fish 20lbs plus.
The pool is fishing well with some quality fish reported bream to 4lbs 80zs tench 5/6 lbs carp on the pole from
8lbs to 11lbs with bigger carp present.

MEADOW ISLE
Very much like National length of the river easy access from both ends.

NEWBRIDGE POOL
Is producing well with multiple catches reported, stocked with grass carp some years ago best reported last season was18lbs.
The pool is fishing well with catches of tench biggest reported 5lbs carp to 19lbs plenty of silver fish with catches of 30lbs plus reported.
This pool is close to the car park well worth a day on this mixed fishery.

TOMMY’S HOLE
The pool is not being overly fished any member requiring a quiet days fishing is advised to try this pool.
The pool is populated with silver fish and a few double figure pike.
The footpath is now clear fair walk to the pool but secluded good day out for members that like the quiet places.

NEW POOL
Contains a fair head of carp to the upper twenties with pike and a good head of silver fish with some 6lbs plus bonus tench to be had.
You need to book on this water it is very popular during the summer months, Night fishing permits are available by request ring the
Assistant F ishery Manager for more details. A new car park has been built close to the water.
This water is popular with the pleasure angler silver fish a plenty with large bream up to 11lbs mainly caught at night

OCEAN
This pool is mainly carp fishing with some good fish present large stock of singles and doubles present, only eight pegs available on this water
you need to book your peg.
Best fish reported 2006/7 27lbs. Fishing well with 20 fish reported by many members on the day.

MARTON HOLE   
Please use the access from Whitegate Way.
Most of the fish in this pool are of specimen size large carp good sized tench, infrequent visitors to the bank but 8lbs plus.
The chub have now reached 6lbs plus with some of the perch 4lbs plus, not an easy
water but the rewards for the successful anglers can be very good.

WHYVERN HOUSE
Juniors only.

RIVER DANE
The river Dane following the pollution we had 5 years ago the river has now showing good signs of recovery with barbel to 8lbs being reported
with some good backup weights of chub, dace and roach. The river is now back on form but requires some rain.
