Update 5th December
Report from the Fisheries Manager from the last Committee Meeting held at Wharton Conservative Club on Tuesday 4th December.
A members forum has been established to listen to the views of any member who wishes to contribute and is now available on this website.

Update 13th November
New Bridge is producing good quality tench up to 4lb, skimmer bream, roach are also being caught.
The river is fishing well for this time of the year even though the weather is wet and cold.
Marton Hole: the stages have now been removed and 7 pegs are now fishable.

Update 7th November
Report from the Fisheries Manager from the last Committee Meeting held at Wharton Conservative Club on Tuesday 6th November.
Dougie Maddock announced that the season 2008 2009 is to be his last one as Match Secretary.
A vacancy now occurs for a new match secretary, Dougie will assist the new Secretary in the first year of his or her appointment.
Anybody interested in becoming the new Match Secretary should contact Dougie, or any other committee member.

Update 16th July
The winning weights in the WDAA Trophy match held on the National length of the river Weaver on Sunday 15th July produced over 180lbs of fish for the first 5 anglers.
1st:   Simon Wilkinson  70lb 5oz
2nd: Steve Walton       42lb 4oz
3rd   C Webb               25lb 8oz
4th:  Steve Flood         24lb 0oz
5th:  Mr Bellis              18lb 0oz

Update 14th July
The growth of Azzolla weed on Newbridge Pool is now critical - it is over an inch thick and is covering the complete surface area of the pool.
If something is not done urgently to remove it, fish will die.

Volunteers are urgently required to clear the weed and save the lives of the fish that your subs have paid for!
Please contact the fishery manager if you can help in any way.

New Pool is now available for night fishing, subject to special rules.

Update 28th April
The Membership Books for the forthcoming season will be available from the usual outlets from Wednesday 2nd May.
From Wednesday 2nd May, the new "sew on" WDAA centenary badges will also be available, see below for details.

or ironed on with a hot iron for about 30 seconds

Report from the Fisheries Manager from the last Committee Meeting held at Wharton Conservative Club on Tuesday 3rd April.

The AGM
The Annual General Meeting was held at Warton Conservative Club on Thursday 8th March.
At the meeting all Association officers were re-elected without opposition.
Mr G J Humphreys was given honorary membership for his services to WDAA.
The annual subscriptions were increased to £25.00 for seniors and £8.00 for juniors and veterans.
The following motions were debated and voted into the Rules and Constitution of WDAA:
1.
"That if an Affiliated Club do not attend a working party, that the eight free matches become four and that the other four matches are paid for at a cost of £15.00 (fifteen pounds). Additionally that any further matches booked after January 1st are to be paid at £20.00 (twenty pounds) per match".
2.
"That at all trophy and Winter League matches the team captains will be held responsible for their team members being in possession of an Environment Agency Rod licence, Any individual who is found not be in possession of the relevant licence will be disqualified".
3.
"That controlled night fishing be allowed on Newpool and The Ocean subject to the relevant agreements with the necessary authorities". For more information, please ring 07963 142 644.
