Update 12th December
The
members forum has been established for over a year and to date nobody has responded. We are either doing a perfect job or nobody
is bothered what happens to WDAA. We can't improve the waters if nobody tells us what we're doing wrong.
The forum is now available for any member either looking for or seeking to sell surplus tackle, and we now have our first contributor.
This a good way to sell some of your surplus gear, it costs nothing and maybe it will help a junior to add to his or her tackle collection?
If you are looking to buy tackle you can also post a request for anybody with surplus to sell.
It's a lot easier and cheaper than going to a car boot sale!

Update 7th March
At the AGM held at Wharton Conservative Club on Thursday 6th March the following resolutions were proposed.
Mr Bernie Chapel, who has just retired from the Environment Agency and has been a great help to WDAA in his long career was awarded Honorary membership.
A specimen prize award of £5 was approved for Mr Dave Slack for his 28lb 3oz common carp
These proposals were approved without opposition.
The Treasurer's Report highlighted the increasing operation costs of WDAA, with particular attention paid to the costs of hiring equipment and the employing of sub-contractors. Current Health and Safety regulations and the increasing restrictions placed on untrained people doing working parties has led to many of the tasks which have been undertaken by the members in the past having to be outsourced to private contractors. But for the compensation received for the pollution of the river Dane in 2005 the Association would have sustained a considerable loss in 2006-2007 season. It was decided that under these circumstances there was little alternative but to increase the subscription fees and charges, and the following increases for the forthcoming season were proposed:
Affiliated Club Joining Fee - £40
Affiliated Club Fee - £15 annually
Club Adult Members - £25
Individual Adult Members - £30
Veterans & Juniors - £10
Day Tickets - Controlled waters 50p
Other waters - £5
Match Booking Fee - £5
These increases were approved without opposition.
Rule changes:
Rule 22(d) "Keep nets must be at least 2 metres long by 45 cm wide. Keep nets and landing nets must conform to EA bylaws and shall be of a knotless construction".
Rule 23(y) "Members must not leave baited rods and lines unattended and must be in control of angling equipment at all times. Failure to do so will result in disciplinary action and could lead to a ban".
Rule 23(z) "Members fishing for carp, pike or barbel must use an adequate un-hooking mat".
These rules were approved without opposition.
