Update 14th December
The final match of the Winter league took place on December 6th, with over 247lbs of fish being caught.

Update 3rd December
Report from the Fisheries Manager from the last Committee Meeting held at Wharton Conservative Club on Tuesday 1st December.
Despite the recent flood conditions, the river continues to produce excellent results in matches.
Update 24th November
The river Weaver continues in it's excellent form with 8 anglers catching over 98lbs at a recent match on the river.

Update 18th November
Although the river Weaver is in flood the matches are still continuing to produce top weights. In a match fished today, 12 anglers caught a total of over 114lbs of fish.
Update 15th November
In the Winter league match fished on Sunday 15th, 45 anglers caught a total of 176lbs of fish. The river was in flood and the level dropped by 10 inches over the duration of the match.
Update 11th November
The river Weaver continues in it's excellent form with a 22 angler catch of over 209lbs of roach and skimmers.
Update 10th November
The ongoing stocking of the river Dane continues, a further 4,000 fish were introduced on 4th November.

Update 21st October
In the Winter league match fished on Sunday 18th, 45 anglers caught a total of 333lb of fish (mainly roach). Dougie reports that the river is "alive with fish" at the moment.

18 anglers fishing the river Weaver on Marina and Red Lion stretches caught a total of 137lb of fish (mainly roach). Dougie reports that the river is "alive with fish" at the moment.

Update 24th August
A request from Mark Leathwood (Head Bailiff Northwich Anglers Association) has been received, regarding the proposed "otter park" in the lower Weaver Valley, between Winsgord and Northwich. Your committee strongly recommend that you take this opportunity to read the proposal and study it's possible implications on the future of fishing in this region.

The Match Secretary would like to remind all members that the closing date for entries for the £500 match is Sunday 30th August.
The match will be fished on Sunday 6th September with the draw taking place at the Red Lion at 9.30am.

Update 5th June
On Thursday 4th June there was a report of fish dying and in distress on Newbridge Pool. The water was tested for oxygen levels and was found to be 27% saturation. The recently purchased oxygenation equipment was brought into operation and the saturation level was stabilised. The Fishery Manager has requested that the use of boilies and ground bait should be kept to a minimum level - if the over extravagant use of boilies and ground bait continues on this water, it could result in a total ban of both.

Update 14th March
At the AGM held at Wharton Conservative Club on Thursday 5th March the following resolution was proposed and passed:
Rule 22(h) is amended to read "In respect of matches of non-affiliated bodies or open matches run by affiliated bodies, the fee charged shall be
£3.00 per peg and shall be paid at the time of booking. A minimum charge of 10 pegs to be paid for."
Update 24th February
Marton Hole is now closed for fishing until further notice, due to an outbreak of "blue green algae". We will keep you informed of the progress on
this water as the season progresses.

The Council are proposing to erect notice boards in the Marina and Rilshaw lane car parks, highlighting the species of birds and fish in the Flash.
