Background
Tommy's Hole is probably one of the least fished venues. It is quite a hike to get there through fields and over stiles - definitely not for the faint hearted!
The pool is fed at one end by a stream and water leaves at the other end via another stream. The end of the pool where the water comes in is now very shallow due to the sand deposits that have built up.
The pool is also the drinking water of a herd of cows and bullocks. The last time I was there a very large bull was also in attendance!
As nobody really fishes it we are not too sure what is in there. So, if anybody does make the journey and catches we would be grateful for any information you could let us have. It is known there are a lot of pike in there but unfortunately the depth of the pool means it is impossible to net successfully.
There are plans being made for the future of this venue. More details to be announced as and when they become available. In the short term a stocking of mixed fish took place in June 2004. Let's hope the pike didn't get them
Stock
Largely unknown. tench, roach and rudd have all been caught but pike (up to 17lb) seem to be the main species.
